Cancellations, refunds, and staying safe

Land work depends on weather, animals, and daylight. Here's exactly what happens when plans change.

Cancellation & refund rules

Farmer cancels — full refund

If the farmer cancels for any reason, the landowner gets every dollar back, service fee included.

48+ hours before the first visit — full refund

Cancel two days out or more and the whole amount comes back, service fee included.

24–48 hours before — work refunded, fee kept

The farm work is refunded in full. The service fee covers payment handling and support.

Under 24 hours or no-show — half of the work refunded

Your farmer has already blocked out the day and turned away other work, so half the farm work is kept.

Weather and safety

Storms, smoke, flooding, or unsafe animals: either side can reschedule at no cost. Message each other in the booking and pick a new day.

Something went wrong

If work wasn't done or the land was damaged, don't release the payment. Report it within 72 hours through the booking messages and we'll review the visit log and photos before any money moves.

Timing is measured from the first visit. Cancelling shows the refund amount before you confirm, and the other person is told right away.

No-shows

If a farmer doesn't turn up and doesn't message, the landowner cancels and gets a full refund. If nobody can get onto the land at the agreed time, it counts as a late cancellation by the landowner. Repeated no-shows on either side end the account.

Damage or a job done badly

Don't release the payment. Report it in the booking messages within 72 hours with photos. We hold the payout while we read the visit log and the photos from both sides. Farmers carry their own liability coverage; landowners carry their own property insurance.

Good habits

  • Keep every message, booking, and payment on Get Your Farmer — it's the only record we can act on.
  • Meet at the land once before a long care plan starts, and walk the property together.
  • Landowners: point out hazards, chemicals, water shutoffs, and any animal that bites.
  • Farmers: log every visit with before-and-after photos. It settles almost every disagreement.
  • Never release a payment for work you haven't seen or been told is done.
