Terms of Service

Last updated 2026. Plain English, on purpose.

1. What Get Your Farmer is

Get Your Farmer is a marketplace that introduces landowners to independent local farmers. We are not a farming company, an employer, or a party to the work agreement. Farmers are independent contractors who set their own rates, schedules, and methods.

By creating an account you confirm you are at least 18 years old and that everything in your profile is true.

2. Bookings and the work agreement

When a landowner books a farmer and the farmer accepts, a direct agreement is formed between those two people. The scope, schedule, and price shown in the booking are the agreement.

Both sides agree to keep bookings, payments, and messages on Get Your Farmer. Taking an introduction off the platform to avoid fees is a breach of these terms and can end your account.

3. Fees

Landowners pay a 10% service fee added at checkout. Farmers pay a fee taken from their payout: 8% to start, 5% after 3 completed jobs, and 3% after 10. Fees are shown in full before anyone commits.

4. Payments

Payments made through the platform are held until the visit is marked done and the landowner releases them. Card processing is being rolled out; until it is live, payment steps in the app are a record of what is owed, not a card charge.

Never pay for work before it is agreed, and never send money outside the app.

5. Cancellations and refunds

Our cancellation and refund rules are published on the Safety and Trust page and are part of these terms.

6. Your responsibilities

Landowners: give safe, lawful access to the property, disclose hazards, animals, chemicals, and any local rules, and carry your own property insurance.

Farmers: hold any licenses or certifications your work requires, carry your own liability coverage, work safely, and be honest about your experience.

You are responsible for your own taxes. We do not withhold anything on your behalf.

7. What isn't allowed

No pesticide or chemical application without required licensing, no work on cannabis or other regulated crops where prohibited, no veterinary procedures, no structural, electrical, plumbing, or tree-felling work requiring a contractor's license, no harassment, discrimination, or false reviews.

8. Liability

Get Your Farmer does not supervise, guarantee, or insure the work. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the fees we collected on the booking in question. Nothing here removes rights you cannot waive under Oregon or federal law.

9. Accounts and ending them

You can delete your account at any time from your profile; we remove your personal details and keep only the records we must for tax and dispute history. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

10. Changes and contact

We will post any changes here and update the date below. Questions: reach us through the messages on any booking, or at the contact address published on our site.

This page is written for clarity, not as legal advice. Have a marketplace attorney review it before you take real money through the platform.
